Avoid Buying Lemons BMW

Avoid buying lemons BMW
When you finally make the decision to purchase a new BMW car the last thing you would expect to find is that the car is defective in one way or the other.
However, this does happen - albeit on a small scale - and there are lemon laws in place - both federal and state, to force the manufacturer to replace, repair or refund.
But what do you look out for when you are buying a used car? Sometimes the fault is very obvious.
Maybe you can see a kind of ripple effect down the side of the car when viewed from either end. This could mean that the car had collided with something forcing the metal body to warp in ripple like patterns.
Or perhaps the car is a different color on one side or at the back or front. Careful here, this could denote a ‘cut and shut’ type vehicle which is highly dangerous.
The car is literally two vehicles welded together.
Maybe the car (or part of it) was stolen and has been passed off as being legitimate.
Most times faults are not obvious and great care should be taken to check out the history of the vehicle.
Remember the old adage - buy in haste repent at leisure? - well in this kind of case your grandma was right.
Never buy in a hurry and get some kind of organization to check out the vehicle for you. It may cost a little more in the long run but you will be assured of a reasonably safe vehicle and avoid litigation.
Get Auto Loan For A New Car Even with Bad Credit

You Can Get An Auto Loan For A New BMW Car Even If You Have Bad Credit
Contrary to popular belief, your options for an auto loan are better on a new car, even with poor credit. New cars as opposed to used ones have a fixed starting value and a fixed depreciation schedule, which enables lenders to make an informed decision. New cars also come with a warranty from the manufacturer, which allows the consumer to avoid maintenance expenses and use that saved money towards the loan payments.
While new cars come with a warranty which usually lasts 5 years for bumper to bumper and 10 years for the engine, the average auto loan is between 6 and 7 years long. Buyers should be aware of this and plan their budget accordingly. After the warranty ends, the buyer will still have loan payments and must then assume the expense of maintaining the vehicle.
Another important factor to understand when purchasing a new car is, your credit score does affect your loan rates. Most people don’t even know their credit score upon their decision to purchase a vehicle. The consumer should get a copy of their credit report prior to initiating the buying process. Special new car programs such as 0% financing is often made unavailable to individuals with bad credit and even is unavailable to people with good credit. Knowing your credit situation prior to buying, will allow you to negotiate the best deal and respond to objections you may find when trying to obtain your auto loan.
Requesting a car loan through several different lenders could temporarily lower your credit score! You should apply to a program that offers you several different lender rates. Multiple credit requests result in a short-term lowering of your credit score, even if no new debt is incurred. To prevent multiple credit requests, apply for a car loan through Any Credit Auto Loans

Secrets to Featuring Car in Magazines

BMW Car Guide
Secrets to featuring your CAR in magazines! Revealed
First and foremost, why do people want to feature their cars to the public? Is it simply to show it off? The answer is yes & no. Many car tuning companies will want to show off their cars to get noticed, to promote their company and to get business. However, reason varies for the individual owners, well some may say “show-off” but most I feel (just like me) is that - after all these hard work, creativity, money spend on the your car, you would want to ensure that all these are paid off, that people actually appreciate your work and to prove that it’s worth the effort you put in and ultimately you get documentation of your hard work before you finally sell off your car. Many people have emailed and asked me the secrets behind getting my BMW on the THREE Car Magazines just like my BMW M3 that was featured in the publications of Performance BMW, Max Power and Options Auto France. So what are the secrets behind it? The question you need to ask is: “Why would a car magazine want to feature your car?” When there are millions of cars out there on the road… Watch this video of my BMW and read the answers below:
Here are the answers:
BE the FIRST (NEWS SELLS)
Car magazines works like newspapers, they need news to sell their magazines, hence to make them notice, you need to make news for them. If your car has the first new modifications from a car tuner (a new prototype), that would be ideal. In my case, my car was the FIRST Rieger BMW in UK. As such, the FIRST #1 Rieger BMW brings attention to UK readers, it created news and curiosity.
BE DIFFERENT: CREATE a whole unique car:
Your best bet is to start off with your mind to create something different and unique to your own liking, of course according to your taste. You don’t want to create a unique car only to hate it after the modifications. People want to see something out of the ordinary. “Specials” always catches attention. But remember to do it tastefully otherwise it will only attract negative feedback. Be creative, don’t limit yourself to parts from one car tuner, you may mix and match with products of other car tuners or even from other makes of car tuners. I got several parts from tuners of other makes of car and modified them to fit my BMW. Some even create new parts for their cars in custom modifications.
CUSTOMISED MODIFICATIONS: ATTENTION TO DETAIL:
Custom modifications attracts attention, it shows creativity and uniqueness too, that nobody else’s has. Car Magazines wants to show customized parts to the world and people will want to buy the magazines to read and to check out the new parts. In my case, my car has lots of custom modifications that I work with my tuner to produce which eventually became a product for them. You may want to use new materials or an all new design for custom parts for your car.
BRIGHT COLOURS:
Car magazines love BRIGHT colored car, so if your modified car is of that, you have a point ahead of other car owners. I was told of this tip by the 3 publications my BMW was featured in. All of them said that it was a pity that my BMW M3 was dark blue! If not, it would have made it to the cover! And true enough the three covers of the magazines that my BMW was featured in came with bright colors! You may have noticed this in all other cover magazines too. So if you plan to repaint your car, catch attention and make it to the cover, choose bright! ( important note: choose a bright color that you can live with!)
CONTACT YOUR LOCAL MAGAZINES:
Well you need to let the magazines know that you have a unique car to feature. Find the best magazine that suit your car theme or make and contact them. If your car is modified by a tuner, you may want to ask your tuner to call the Car Magazines as they will have direct contacts to the publishers. In my case, I didn’t actually thought of getting my car featured in the magazines but the idea came from my tuner - Alan Pentacost of PSG BMW body kits. He called up a magazine, my car got featured, then one thing lead to another and other magazines come after to feature my BMW M3.
I am confident that if you have a tastefully modified unique BMW car, many car magazines are more than willing to feature it. Just think of it this way, Car magazines need cars to feature in their magazines every month! (At least five cars per month). How are they going to find these cars? If you have one and feel like getting it featured, get some good photos now and email them. You just have to let Car publishers know of the existence of your Unique Car. Good Luck!

How to Drive a Convertible

How to Drive a Convertible
It’s a blast to drive with the top down. But there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind.
Step #1
Pull over and come to a complete stop before you open or close a convertible top. Don’t try to open or close it at speed - wind force may damage the mechanism that controls it.
Step #2
Wear eye protection. This will keep airborne debris from getting in your eyes. If it’s sunny out, wear sunglasses.
Step #3
Park away from trees if you plan to leave the top down. Otherwise, you may find tree sap or bird poop in your car when you return.
Step #4
Avoid leaving loose articles such as paper or clothing inside the car - especially in the backseat. These can rise up and start flying around at highway speeds. Source: ehow
The EXTRA Tips:
Depending on the aerodynamic design of the convertible, you may find that a light rain doesn’t get the vehicle’s front passengers wet. Driving in heavy downpours, however, is a bad idea. Source: ehow
Important notes
Always wear your seat belt. Otherwise, you risk being thrown out of the vehicle in an accident
if you plan to keep the top down when you leave your convertible parked somewhere, be careful not to leave any objects of value in sight. Source: ehow
Suggestion from euser:
Get an Alarm by Top Down O.
Get an alarm system for the car, convertibles are the easiest cars to get into, especially if you leave the top down in a public place.
No motion detectors! by SpyderGirl
It IS definately a good idea to get an alarm system on your car, however, don’t opt to get a motion detector installed with the alarm. You should know not to leave anything of value in the car with the top down anyway, not to mention, you will grow to hate the alarm system due to several false alarms everyday (wind blowing a piece of paper inside your car will set it off) so eventually you will think your car is just “crying wolf”
Losing things Roberta K.
And don’t raise your hand with something in it. The wind will probably carry it away.
Put the windows down! eHow Friend
When the top is down, put ALL the windows down! I hate seeing people with the top down and all the windows up! Why didn’t they just buy a car with a sunroof? Remember: WINDOWS DOWN!!
Billboards Steve
Don’t park under billboard signs in the evening. Otherwise you might find your car filled with moths when you leave after dark!
Modify BMW Guide - More with Less

The Budget Way To Modifying Your BMW Car
MORE with LESS—The cheapest way to get the most out of your car
Many car owners modify their cars to create that special car that is totally unique to them. Some has much to splash on their new or used car to upgrade the look or performance, some wish for the same thing but has limited budget. This guide is dedicated to those who want to create a special car on a budget and for those who do not wish to spend too much on their car as they have other priorities in life. With this guide, I want to show how to get the most out of your car with maximum impact with limited budget. This guide is based on the popular BMW 3 series E36 but it can be adapted to all makes of cars.
STEP 0! - Face Lift!
Before you go into any modifications, you may want to start to facelift your BMW to the latest specifications according to your car series. Check out what type of face lifts are available for your car… You may consider white indicators, new grille, new badge etc.
STEP 1 - Colour-Code Bumpers
The first step to creating an attractive BMW is to colour-code your bumper/spoiler for cars that do not come with colour-coded bumpers as standard. Colour-coded bumpers make the car look fuller, lower and much more pleasing to the eye. There is nothing less attractive than a BMW with such attractive colours but has a grey underside (bumpers). Especially if you have a light colour car, you will find huge improvements to the look of your car just by colour-coding your bumpers. However, if you are thinking of changing your spoilers in the very near future, skip this step to save you the cost of painting. (many new cars post 2000 already come with colour coded bumpers as standard hence this step will not be necessary)
STEP 2 - Lowering springs
Lowering the car is the second step to any modification. Even a car without any body kit on can look mean and cool with colour-coded bumpers and a set of lowering springs. They will improve both the look of the car as well as the handling! You don’t have to change the dampers or suspension kits if you are on a budget, springs will do the trick. But be careful not to go TOO low or your car will become a lawn mower!
STEP 3 - Exhaust System
Exhaust system is next on the list. It makes the rear end much more mean and sound the part too! especially with twin DTM-pipes. Those BMW cars with single tailpipe can upgrade to twin tailpipes which will certainly gain you credits. Those BMW that already has twin tailpipes may consider 2x twin tailpipes! A full exhaust system should also improve performance by about 5-10bhp. So you get style plus performance for your BMW!
STEP 4 - Alloy Wheels
Alloy wheels are certainly the most visual changes you will find on any car. It will change the whole look of your BMW. The only reason it is in step four is because there is no point having large alloys that sits high above the ground. Different types of wheels will create a different look. Personally, I think five-spokes alloys look best. It provides both better cooling for the brakes as well as showing off your brake discs (if you fit large ones). Some people judges the performance of your car by the size of your brake discs as you need them to stop your fast BMW car! Fitting larger alloys enable you to fit wider tyres for better grip. There are a large number of designs and offsets to choose from, so choose wisely! Don’t go oversized! You want to keep your BMW as the ultimate driving machine not just a showing machine.
Step 5 - Body kits
When you reach this stage, you have spent quite a lot and you will not stop spending until you have created your ultimate car. There are many body kits to choose from (see Modified BMW gallery for more details). The first step could simply be to add a rear boot spoiler for the added special touch. Rear boot spoiler is the most visible body kit. If you want to go further, buy a full kit (front and rear spoilers, side skirts and rear wing). Although you could mix and match kits from different manufacturers, it is always advisable to go for the set as some manufacturers design their kit to compliment one another, air flow through the car will also have been considered in the design of the kit.
STEP 6 - ACCESSORIES + UNLIMITED
As you have carried out the five basic steps to modifying your BMW, you should by now have created a very unique BMW. However, you may want more and I can tell you that there are many more things you can do to your BMW and they are unlimited, from interior upgrades, sound system upgrades to engine upgrades and even body kit upgrades. Check out Extreme BMW modifications for extreme body kit
However, I would do it in the order mentioned above, but you may have different views on that. People who like fast cars will certainly upgrade their engines and the interior and the sound department is usually ignored as they only add weight to the car and slow the car down. However, if you want comfort out of your BMW, then by all means upgrade your interior and sound system.
In conclusion, before you go about spending your hard earned cash to modifying your BMW car, plan well, set a budget and use the steps laid out here as your guide to modifying your BMW car.
I hope this guide has helped, please do not feel obligated to follow these steps. Plan your own steps according to your budget. Some steps if carried out together will certainly save you on cost of labour. Please remember that these are only suggestions I have made, the actions you take for your BMW is your full responsibility.
